Introduction
In October and November 2000, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra undertook perhaps its most ambitious and arduous international tour lo date. Over just three weeks. the Orchestra toured to Argentina, Canada and the United States, giving ten performances along the way in venues ranging from major concert halls lo school auditoriums.
Also for the first time, the TSO wanted its local. national and international fans to be able to follow the orchestra as it travelled. To this end, in my capacity as TSO Marketing and Development Manager, I travelled with the Orchestra on the tour and sent back a daily diary and digital photographs, This material was published on the Orchestra’s website, generating some of the heaviest traffic to date on its already popular internet site.
