My friend Chris dropped me to airport. In Melbourne I spent a couple of hours in the Virgin domestic lounge, membership having been earned via recent travel miles or points or whatever. It was nothing special, but it provided basic sustenance and filled time before heading through emigration and heading to the international departure area. On board the SQ flight I was sequestered in the middle seat of the middle section of ‘convict class’, but managed to hold tight. During the flight I saw a couple of movies:
- Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
- The Imitation Game (story of Alan Turing starring Benedict Cumberbatch – Sherlock does WWII.
Being Singapore Airlines, arrival was accurate to the point of being able to set one’s watch. It was also quite late in the evening, so I took a taxi straight to the hotel and retired for the night.
