Hobart to Hong Kong

Sunday 20 September, 2009 – Hong Kong

Dad gave me a lift to the airport – managed to leave my jacket in his car. Oh, well, an excuse for shopping in Hong Kong. Maria was waiting at the check in counter. Some problem with my Jetstar booking – they had the payment and my name, but the flight hadn’t been specified. Some issue with their IT (Samone , our travel agent had said the Jetstar system had crashed while she was doing the booking…. ) It wasn’t a problem; the agent sat on the phone for a while and sorted it out. A call to Cathay Pacific at Tullamarine confirmed our HK flight was OK.

Uneventful flight to HK – but a very crowded one. Not a spare seat in Economy, and nowhere to stand while waiting for the toilet. Food OK. At HK there was a delay in our bags coming out, so nearly midnight before we checked into the Langham Place Hotel in Mongkok, Kowloon. Very comfortable and high tech – my bathroom has a glass wall so you can watch TV from the bath. And the TV has a keyboard.
